Carmen Ansley
Sports Rehabilitator and Sports Massage Therapist
Carmen is a BASRaT Accredited Sports Rehabilitator, currently working alongside this as a Lecturer in Sports Rehabilitation & Massage at Cardiff Metropolitan University. Having previously studied a BSc in Sports Conditioning, Rehabilitation and Massage at Cardiff Met, she then began her career as an S&C coach before further studying MSc Sports Rehabiliation in Plymouth.
Carmen has previously worked as a pitchside therapist for several rugby clubs and Wales Hockey National age groups, she also has experience as a massage therapist in private practice and 5 years employment as an Exercise Rehabilitator for the Ministry of Defence. Carmen’s passion is to bring her varied experience to facilitate the learning of her student’s aswell as supporting colleagues conduct research projects such as youth athletes and women’s health. Whilst doing this, Carmen also has a passion to continue to work with clients to prevent injury, improve performance or return from injury whether it is through manual therapy or exercise rehabilitation.
Clinical interests – Exercise rehabilitation, return to sport, youth athletes, injury prevention.
Sporting interests (all!) – Hockey, Running, Cycling, Swimming, Tennis, Padel.
